Jean Gaillard is originally from Belgium where he got his degree in rural engineering.  He left Belgium to work in Africa working on irrigation schemes to help small farmers grow irrigated crops.

Jean has turned his passion for horse into a vocation of caring for them.  His travels throughout the horse world started when he left Belgium for work in Africa. He worked in 6 African countries, and cared for horses in Niger, Ethiopia and Kenya. Jean prides himself on being a Master Farrier and a professional Equine Dental Technician.  His experience has included race horses, dressage horses, hunters/jumpers, polo ponies, trail and pack horses and mules.

In 2005, Jean moved to New Cuyama, California and set up business to provide farrier and dental services on the diverse breeds and disciplines that make up the Central Coast equine world.  Jean’s treatments and philosophies are a beneficial blend of tradition and new – with the ultimate goal of what is best for the horse. From hot shoeing to trimming, and from floating to extraction – the comfort and well being of the horse are the top priority.
